Sophisticated Engineering
Marantz AV8805 offers an exceptional level of construction to achieve the best pristine reproduction of music and movies. The remarkably rigid base frame (the basic element of all circuit boards carrying the delicate audio signal) eliminates any possible microphonic effects caused by unwanted vibrations. The oversized toroidal transformer feeding the large main capacitors is fixed on a 5-mm aluminum stand for added stability. All electronics are supported by the copper plating of the main chassis, which ensures the best ground connection at any point and significantly improves the signal-to-noise ratio. A total of 17 single-board HDAM modules are used to achieve the best channel separation to provide reference audio performance. To top it all off, everything is well protected by a heavy top cover made of three parts.

Latest HDMI connectivity; HDCP 2.2 compatible
Marantz AV8805 is ready for the future, with the latest HDMI and HDCP 2.2 specifications for all HDMI inputs. The preamplifier supports 4K Ultra HD 60Hz video, 4:4:4 Pure Color subsampling, High Dynamic Range (HDR) and 21:9 video, 3D and BT.2020 pass-through on all inputs. It is compatible with 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray disc players, set-top boxes and other 4K Ultra HD source devices. Compatibility with the pass-through functions of Dolby Vision and HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma), the new HDR format of TV broadcasts, is also supported.

Dolby Atmos
You can hear every dimension of sound with the Dolby Atmos sound object-based audio format with a true immersive sound experience. You can enjoy a 7.1 surround sound system with six additional acoustic speakers positioned above the listener or six Dolby Atmos-certified speakers with superior diffusion for the ultimate home theater experience, including Dolby Surround upmixer for traditional content.

DTS:X
DTS Immersive Audio: X ™ places sound in space exactly where it naturally is, creating a realistic, multidimensional audio experience in your home. Included is the DTS Neural: X ™ spatial re-mapping engine that enables enhanced immersive audio and greater realism from all your favorite movies.

Auro-3D
Completely immersing the listener in realistic sound, Auro-3D® offers a more enveloping surround sound experience with dedicated audio channels placed above the listener (height and overhead) in addition to the normal audio channels. HDMI eARC Object-Based Audio Support
eARC (Advanced Audio Return Channel) supports 3D audio broadcasts of your TV apps using a single HDMI connection for the simplest of setups. This feature will be supported with a future firmware update.

AV8805 features advanced dual RF antenna connectivity for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless streaming to have a reliable connection even in congested urban environments. HEOS: the ideal solution for multi-room wireless music streaming
AV8805’s built-in HEOS technology enables wireless streaming and playback of your favorite music from a huge variety of sources. You can enjoy music offered by Spotify, TuneIn Internet radio, Sound Cloud, Tidal, Napster, Deezer, or from your local music file store. By adding other HEOS devices (e.g., other HEOS-compatible receivers) you can play your music throughout your home and control it easily with the free HEOS App.

Marantz AVR Remote
Marantz 2016 AVR Remote app for iOS and Android smartphones and tablets gives you complete control of the latest generation of Marantz network AV receivers. Along with many new features, the graphics and user interface have been completely revised. You can control power on and off, volume, input selection and its settings, or instantly switch to the HEOS app to access your music content and music streaming services, with total control of the HEOS wireless multi-room system.

High-Resolution Audio
AV8805 will allow you to discover the incredible fidelity of high-resolution audio tracks with the ability to decode ALAC, FLAC and WAV lossless file formats up to 24-bit/192-kHz and DSD 2.8MHz and 5.6MHz files (the Audiophile format of SACD discs). You can listen to high-resolution music from the front-panel USB port or network sources, and you can also listen to other widely used file types, such as MP3 files.

Advanced 32-bit D/A conversion for all channels
Marantz AV8805 features eight high-quality 32-bit AK4490 stereo DACs on all channels and XLR inputs and outputs. It features a balanced XLR stereo input that is assignable and 15.2 balanced XLR outputs, which include the two subwoofer outputs and outputs for the front height/width and overhead channels. This extended balanced XLR compatibility ensures high-level performance in home and studio environments, while the Pre 15.2 RCA outputs offer additional compatibility with different types of power amplifiers.

AV8805 features Marantz’s latest proprietary HDAM (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module) modules, made with selected discrete circuit elements, precisely matched on a compact secondary circuit board, with ultra-wide bandwidth response (100 kHz, -3 dB) for remarkable sound imaging and detailed reproduction.

Audyssey MultEQ XT32 advanced
Equipped with the full Audyssey Platinum suite of advanced DSP algorithms, AV8805 features Audyssey MultEQ XT32 automatic environmental acoustic correction. Using the included measurement microphone, MultEQ XT32 analyzes the output of each acoustic speaker (including subwoofers) by reaching up to eight measurement points and generates precision digital filters that can optimize each channel for proper frequency and time domain response. In addition, the optional Audyssey MultEQ Editor app allows you to view and adjust settings for detailed fine-tuning and customize the sound more precisely for your listening environment and personal taste.

External control capability
For remote control compatibility with other components of your home theater system AV8805 has an IR (infrared) remote control input and output on the rear panel, along with a dual 12V trigger output. For direct connection to external home automation and control systems AV8805 has an RS-232C serial port and Crestron Connected certification for quick and easy integration with Crestron home automation systems.

Dual subwoofer output
A single subwoofer requires optimal placement to avoid low frequency enhancement or attenuation at the main listening position. AV8805 supports two subwoofers: used in different positions, they will be able to even out the low frequency response for more accurate reproduction anywhere in the listening area.

Multi-source/Multi-room
Whatever your family’s entertainment needs, AV8805 gives you the ability to enjoy surround sound in the main room and, at the same time, stereo playback from another source in another area of the home. Versatile configuration options are available thanks to the 13-channel processing capability.

Connectivity for Smart TV
Through HDMI CEC you can control AV8805 with remote control of your smart TV. Simply set the receiver’s “HDMI control” to ON and activate the “Smart Menu” function to begin controlling AV8805 with your TV remote control. The smart menu home screen will provide you with direct access to source selection, surround modes, AV receiver configuration menu and Smart Select configuration presets.

Easy-to-use Smart Select functions
On the AV8805 remote control you can find four buttons with Smart Select function, each of which can store your preferred configuration with input, volume and Audyssey configuration, for each specific source. With the push of a single button you can instantly have your AV8805 perfectly configured for any use, from Blu-ray player, to TV decoder or for your favorite Internet radio station.
