Usually reserved for high-end Hi-Fi components, the A-S1200 benefits from the technical expertise and absolute musicality of a toroidal transformer. Thick cables for grounding by low-impedance concept
The low impedance concept, aided by the thick cables for ground connection, is fundamental to the components adopting the premium Hi-Fi badge. This design concept begins with Yamaha’s premium Hi-Fi components with the A-S1200, helping to present an open and natural soundstage, bringing the performer and listener closer together.
Cut directly from pure brass, the luxurious speaker terminals fit comfortably in the human hand for effortless tightening, resulting in a highly secure connection. The connection to the music is achieved with the underlying rhythm and beat. A true representation of the music allows the listener to feel the rhythm and thus not only hear the music, but feel the story behind the music.
Concept of mechanical grounding
As a guarantee of the “Premium Hi-Fi” badge, the A-S1200 adopts a mechanical grounding concept, inherited from both the A-S2200 and A-S3200. The concept begins with foot bolts welded directly to the main chassis, followed by the large heat sink, power transformer and blocking capacitors also bolted directly to the chassis. Through this design, unwanted vibrations are avoided, resulting in expressive and rhythmic bass, presenting the “Groove” of the music to the listener.
