CINEMA DSP HD3 for movies, music and video games

Yamaha’s flagship 3D sound field reproduction technology was developed by combining actually measured sound field data with state-of-the-art digital signal processing technology. The revamped CINEMA DSP HD3 uses new signal processing algorithms and enhances the theatrical effect of sound, accurately reproducing a new dimension of realism for an immersive, boundless sound field. Leveraging front, center and surround speakers to simulate a virtual rear speaker, CINEMA DSP HD3 can reproduce up to 11.1 channels* from a 7.1-channel speaker configuration. *Requires connection to a front presence speaker.

Dolby Atoms® with Height Virtualizer

For all those who do not have a system with ceiling speakers or upward-emitting speakers, Dolby Atmos technology with Height Virtualization simulates the Atmos “ceiling” experience by exploiting the front channels. A configuration of up to five speakers allows the effects of two ceiling channels to be reproduced, while with seven speakers it will be possible to simulate the effects of four ceiling speakers.

Perceive all dimensions with Dolby Atmos. Configure a 5.1-channel surround system with two additional ceiling speakers or two Dolby Atmos height speakers to enjoy incredible, immersive overhead effects – Dolby Surround upmixer also available for all other content.

Compressed Music Enhancer

In compressed digital music such as MP3s, the frequency response is reduced. Yamaha’s Compressed Music Enhancer technology uses sophisticated digital signal processing to reconstruct lost frequencies using algorithms that allow the music to be heard with the original quality.

Advantages of a high response rate amplifier

The new circuit, which offers more than double the response speed, ensures accurate signal transmission, especially effective for high-resolution audio signal. High response speed amplifiers can cause some instability in signal transmission-the new circuit designed by Yamaha ensures stable signal transmission even at high response speed.

High-quality digital components

Qualcomm® QCS407, designed to deliver superior audio performance, supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X technologies for an immersive home audio experience and a dedicated high-performance audio DSP.

It integrates the ES9026PRO DAC, ESS’s new 32-bit SABRE PRO Premier series reference. ESS’s patented 32-bit Hyper Stream and total harmonic distortion (THD) compensation function help limit noise levels. Combined with Yamaha’s proprietary D.O.P.G. (DAC On Pure Ground), which eliminates possible variations between stages of the audio circuit to reduce background noise, it significantly improves the silence and resolution of the entire sound range for rich and expressive reproduction of even the most delicate sounds.

Foot with anti-resonance technology

Anti-resonance technology (A.R.T.) consists of a fifth support foot placed in the center of the unit. Together with the structure equipped with a double bottom, it more effectively dampens vibrations generated by the transformer, transistors and heatsinks, as well as those transmitted by the sound emitted from the speakers, ensuring dynamic audio and more accurate and detailed reproduction. The fifth foot of the A8A has special internal brass components that ensure even richer and more detailed sound reproduction.

Newly designed mechanical structure

The internal layout of components, arranged in an extremely logical and symmetrical manner, and the totally revamped circuit boards are designed to ensure the shortest signal path on each board. The new H-shaped cross-shaped chassis improves the strength of the receiver body and sound stability, promoting clearer, crisper and more transparent reproduction. In addition, the redesigned mechanical structure helps prevent the spread of vibration from the transformer to the amplifier circuit. Noise is reduced to improve sound clarity.

HDR10+*

HDR10+ processes the dynamic range (the ratio of light to dark) of video content on a scene-by-scene (or even frame-by-frame) basis using metadata that informs the brightness and black level characteristics of the scene, so that the most significant details are preserved. This allows screens to reproduce images that are more realistic and true to the director’s intentions.
